Automotive batteries are manufactured to different national and international standards. Each standard defines physical dimensions, terminal configurations, performance test methods, and rating systems.

Regional Overlap
Many markets accept multiple standards. For example, JIS batteries are widely used in Africa alongside DIN batteries. The Middle East imports both JIS and DIN specification batteries.
